St. Pius X School adheres to the following policies:

School entrance policies:

• Pre-K 3 – 3 years old and potty-trained at the time of admission to the program
• Pre-K 4 – 4 years old and potty-trained at the time of admission to the program
• Kindergarten - 5 years old by September 30 of the current school year
• First grade - 6 years old by September 30 of the current school year

Parents applying for admission to St. Pius X School must complete/submit  the following:

• Completed online registration form         
• St. Pius X Catholic School - Admissions Online

The following documents must be submitted / uploaded with the registration form:

• Birth certificate
• Baptismal certificate (if Catholic); required for Roman Catholic tuition rate
• Immunization record & physical examination (School Entrance Health Form)
• Any specific medical, physiological, or psychological testing profile that the child may have
• A probation period of one quarter exists for new students to ensure their ability to succeed academically and behaviorally. Should a student be unable to comply with these requirements, he/she may be asked to withdraw from the school.
• Department of Social Services Child Registration Form
• Request for Administration of Medication In Hampton Roads Schools Form

Applying for Tuition Assistance

The following information is required in order for FACTS to process your application:

• Completed online application
• Payment of the $40 application fee.
• Copies of your 2022 tax return including all schedules
• Copies of your 2022 W2 for both you and your spouse.
• Copies of supporting documentation for Social Security income, welfare, child support, food stamps, workers’ compensation and TANF.

There are three payment plan options for St. Pius X families:  

• A one-time yearly payment (a one-time $20 FACTS fee applies) or
• Two semi-annual payments (a one-time $20 FACTS fee applies) or
• Eleven monthly payments (July – May) with the first payment due in July (a one-time $50 FACTS fee applies).  

NOTE: Financial Aid can only be applied to students that have enrolled for the upcoming school year. Additionally, returning students' accounts must be current.

Types of Tuition Assistance

McMahon Parater Foundation for Education

Eligibility:

1. Student’s enrollment application or re-registration form MUST have been submitted to the school.
2. Both Catholic and Non-Catholic students are eligible for scholarship consideration.

Qualification:
Determined at the diocesan level based on information submitted to FACTS Grant and Aid.

Catholic Diocese Parish Sharing Award

The parishes within the Diocese of Richmond contribute to Catholic education through a parish assessment. These funds contribute to making Catholic education more affordable.

Eligibility:

1. Student’s enrollment application or re-registration form MUST have been submitted to the school.
2. Students baptized Roman Catholic are eligible for consideration for this assistance. A Baptismal Certificate must be on file in the school office.

Qualification:
Determined at the diocesan level based on information submitted to FACTS Grant and Aid.

Virginia State Tax Credits Scholarship (EISTC)

Eligibility:

1. Student’s enrollment application or re-registration form MUST have been submitted to the school.
2. Children receiving these scholarships must come from families whose annual household income is less than 300 percent of the current poverty guidelines.
3. Children with disabilities, the family’s household income must be no more than 400 percent of the current poverty level.

Qualification:
