The St. Pius X School Board acts in an advisory role to the Pastor, Principal, and Assistant Principal. The School Board follows the guidelines outlined by the Richmond Diocese and operates in a collaborative manner. All schools in the Diocese are required to have School Boards.
The purpose of the School Board is to recommend policy to the Pastor and Principal consistent with diocesan policy, state guidelines, and directives for the operation of the school so that the largest possible number of students may be effectively educated in a Christian environment and encouraged to make a deep personal commitment to Jesus Christ and the Church. The School Board will oversee the following committees: Finance, Development, Facilities, Legislative, Marketing, and Strategic Planning. Additionally, they are responsible for coordinating goals and efforts with the Home and School Association and the Athletic Association. Meetings are held monthly or more frequently as needed. The board members are appointed.
